We are seeking a Scientific Expert in Gut Health & well-being to lead the Group’s expertise on biotics and the gut microbiome and to guide innovation in healthy & functional snacking aligned with global health and wellness goals for Bel’s Group. Into the Applied Research in Microbiology team, this position bridges R&D, regulatory, nutrition and marketing teams, ensuring scientific rigor, product efficacy and strategic alignment across markets.
Your main missions in this role will be to:
* Build the Group’s expertise on the impact of diet on health and gut well-being, including the gut microbiome, biotics, fermented products, active ingredients, and anti-nutritional factors.
* Scientifically support and inform the Group’s strategy for developing a range of healthy and functional snacks that address physical and mental health challenges. Provide evidence-based recommendations on gut health & wellbeing in collaboration with the Bel’s Nutrition teams.
* Establish and maintain close collaboration with marketing, nutrition, regulatory, and quality departments to ensure regulatory and health compliance across all markets and target populations.
* Contribute to internal awareness and training on the gut microbiome, its short- and long-term health implications, and the benefits and applications of biotics in food.
* Collaborate with R&D teams to optimize the incorporation of prebiotics, probiotics, and active ingredients, ensuring their effectiveness while maintaining product quality and safety.
* Build an external ecosystem (consortiums, startups, suppliers, academic science) around biotics (pre-, pro-, and postbiotics) in the food industry to accelerate innovation.
* Conduct scientific and technological monitoring and critical analysis (scientific literature, patents, preclinical and clinical data) to identify new knowledge & opportunities in the field.
* Participate in national and international conferences and seminars to represent the company and promote the Group’s positions.
Profil :
* PhD ou diplôme d’ingénieur en sciences alimentaires, biotechnologie, microbiologie ou nutrition, avec une expertise avérée en santé intestinale et bien-être.
* Expérience significative dans des produits alimentaires contenant des biotiques.
* Solides compétences en recherche scientifique, analyse de données et gestion de projets.
* Curieux(se), collaboratif(ve) et orienté(e) business, avec des compétences en leadership pour transformer des sujets scientifiques en opportunités concrètes pour l’entreprise.
* Excellentes compétences en communication et travail d’équipe, avec la capacité de transmettre des messages percutants à des parties prenantes internes et externes diverses.
* Passion pour l’innovation et le développement durable dans l’industrie alimentaire.
* Autonome et proactif(ve).
* Maîtrise courante du français et de l’anglais.
